Challenge Quilts start at the May meeting and are displayed at our October Anniversary Luncheon.

Challenge Quilt 2019

This years Challenge Quilts will be revealed at the Anniversary Party
to be held
on October 4.  Quilter and finished item must be at the party.

The subject for the 2019 Challenge Quilt is Home Tweet Home.  The challenge is to make a quilted item with the state bird of the state in which you were born.  If you were born outside the US, you may use the national bird from that location.

You can use a variety of techniques such as fusible applique, hand applique, paper piecing, broderie perse, embroidery, coloring with crayons, painting, or snippets.  You can embellish, or not.  Your quilted item should be no smaller than 8" x 10" and as large as you like.  Some ideas of what you can make are would be a pocket for a tote, a placemat, a wall hanging, a lap quilt, a purse or a table runner.  Items must be finished.

Ribbons will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, as well as other categories.

There will be:

The Peacock Award - Best use of color

The Coo Coo's Nest Award - Most innovative or outside the box

The Silly as a Goose Award - Most humorous

The Bird's Eye View Award - Machine embroidery

Have FUN!!!
